MEET RUBY
Ruby Hedge is the founder and creative director of Kusuma. A first-generation American born to Indian immigrants, Ruby grappled with the intricate balance of assimilation while cherishing her heritage and allowing her unique identity to emerge. Her love for fashion drew her into the heart of the industry, where she worked for iconic brands like Ralph Lauren, Gap, French Connection, and OshKosh B'Gosh.
After years dedicated to fashion giants, her community, and her family, memories of dancing in her mother's saris resurfaced. She recalled the transformative power of luxurious fabrics and bold patterns to bolster self-confidence and individuality. In 2023, this reflection ignited the spark for Kusuma.
